Australian woman Christina Fiddimore has won her battle to access her superannuation tax-free. The 42-year-old cancer patient has won the right to have her super payments released so that she is able to meet her medical and living costs. The Australian Government has agreed to change super laws to allow terminally ill patients to access their super accounts tax-free. The tax status of such payments will be the same as the conditions applied to death benefits. There are some weaknesses with the laws surrounding the early release of superannuation in Australia.
