All over the world, share markets have fallen since late 2007 and global investment markets have been volatile. This affects every investor, which includes most members of super funds.
Many super fund members are likely to see lower returns than in recent years when they open their 2007/08 member statements. When you see low and possibly even negative returns next to your name, it can be all too easy to get into a panic and look for ways to chase higher returns. It's a fact that markets go up and down and just like the record returns of recent years, lower returns won't last forever. Over the long term, things normally even out.
