RBA unconcerned by debt

ABIX Summary
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has published its six-monthly review of financial stability. The report suggests that household and business finances are in good shape. It notes that mortgage arrears are rising in some areas but are still historically low. The RBA board will meet on 3 April 2007 and will discuss interest rates. Some analysts believe that the board will raise interest rates by 0.25%, while others disagree. The latter group believe that the central bank will sit on the sidelines for some time.
