Even minor differences in drafting in the capital gains tax (CGT) small business relief provisions have some important implications. For example, the controlling individual concept is relevant to a CGT event that happens in the 2005-06 or an earlier year, while the significant individual concept is relevant to a CGT event that happens in the 2006-07 or later years.
