Many Australians are unaware that their superannuation-related risk policies may soon lapse. Under the new "simpler super" rules, super funds cannot accept non-concessional contributions if the member has not quoted a valid Tax File Number (TFN). This rule will affect the non-concessional payment of insurance premiums. Insurance companies are appealing to super fund members to provide their funds with TFNs.
