ABIX Summary
The prestige residential market on the Gold Coast in Queensland is strong in early 2007. Prices are expected to continue to rise for properties close to the beach or in prestige apartment complexes. However, the market is beginning to slow. The lower end of the market is also performing well. Interest rate rises have affected the middle market in suburban and rural residential categories. However, rising rents are expected to attract investors back to the market. Baby boomers are the main buyers at the top end of the market.
