Equities strength won't last - RBA

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has issued its latest financial stability review, warning the sharemarket boom may soon come to an end. In the document, the central bank notes that the world's equities markets are increasingly interlocked, and that corrections such as the one seen in late February 2007 could eventually turn into a larger downturn. Already investors are seeking out less risky assets such as bonds. Meanwhile the RBA also forecasts that the banking sector both in Australia and overseas will continue to perform well, especially as business lending climbs to new highs.
