Building approvals rose in April, while economic activity has grown, particularly in the manufacturing and services sectors. On 6 June, national accounts figures are expected to show that economic growth will rise in the June quarter. Gross domestic product is forecast to grow by 1.2 per cent in the quarter and 3.1 per cent for the year, close to levels before the drought.
