LexisNexis Summary
The Coalition has pledged $A34 billion in tax cuts, while the Australian Labor Party has promised cuts worth $A31 billion. Under the tax plan put forward by the Government, the rate scale would be altered to 15, 30, 35 and 40 per cent over five years. Labor has postponed the Coalition's proposed tax cuts for people who earn over $A180,000 per year. Its cuts for people earning less than this amount are of equal value to those pledged by the Government.
