Blame it on the baby boomers

Thu Jul 19 2007

ABIX Summary
The acronym "ski", which refers to "spending the kid's inheritance", is said to be very widely used by Australian baby boomers. There is some concern among members of Generation Y (Gen Y) that the chance that their parents might decide to "ski" means that they will never be able to afford to buy their own home. However, a study of the track record of babyboomers when it comes to indulging their children by acts such as paying their HECS and covering all their mobile telephone bills suggests that Gen Y children should not be too alarmed, as their parents are just "softies" at heart.
