[117] CPI: inflation falls - December quarter 2006 indexation factor

ABIX Summary
The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released the December Quarter 2006 Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures. The indexation factor fell by 0.2 per cent to 155.5 between the September quarter of 2006 and the December quarter of 2006. The biggest impact on the CPI index in December 2006 was automotive fuel which fell 12.4 per cent in price, followed by fruit (a fall of 5.2 per cent), pharmaceuticals (a fall of five per cent), and audio, visual and computing equipment (a fall of 2.7 per cent).
